Argentina has gained a loyal following mainly due to the wine made from the Malbec grape. Most vineyards in Argentina are situated in-land, an area close to the Andes that is practically desert but very well irrigated as in Chile. The vineyards tend to be at a high altitude which helps counter the extreme temperatures and ensures a long ripening season.
